SAP Conversational AI, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) startup striving to simplify the implementation of Natural Language Understanding in machines and computers, today announced the appointment of Chief Technology Officer Omer Biran. In this role, Biran will lead SAP Conversational AI’s Research and Development team, driving major technology-enabled initiatives as part of the company’s advancing business model.
PhD in mathematics and with 15 years of software development and management experience in both startups and large companies, Biran brings a great deal of knowledge and expertise to the organization. Most recently, he served as Senior Director at referral Software Asset Management startup Elée. In this role, he built the engineering organization and product offering, in addition to serving as Business Unit Director.
Previous to this, Biran served as Sr. R&D Manager at SunGard, world leader financial software solutions & services to institutions in every segment of the financial services industry. Biran also held multiple senior roles at Intel and in the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
As part of SAP Conversational AI Executive Leadership team, Biran will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Joubert, who commented on the appointment:

Biran, originally from Israel, graduated from the Technion – Israel Institution of Technology with a Master of Science degree in mathematics and computer science, and obtained his PhD in mathematics and economics at the Dauphine University in Paris.
