Start building your own chatbot now!

SAP Conversational AI currently offers a community edition of the platform for both free and paid customers. With the next release of SAP Conversational AI (April 2020), we are introducing a brand-new Enterprise edition of the platform. This Enterprise edition will allow paid customers to have all their chatbots and data securely isolated in their own tenant.

The following table provides a comparison for editions and features available with each edition. enterprise-edition-sap-conversational-ai

What does this mean for the customers?

This change will only impact the current paid customers (with a Cloud Foundry subaccount and a tenant ID).

If your chatbots that are currently set up in the SAP Community edition are either:

  • Consuming external services through the SAP Cloud Platform destinations, then the single sign-on and the destinations for these bots will stop working

What do I need to do?

After the release of the SAP Conversational AI Enterprise edition, you will need to:

  1. If not already done while configuring the SAP Conversational AI Web Client, subscribe to SAP Conversational AI service via the SAP Cloud Platform Cockpit.
  2. Import your Community chatbots into your new Enterprise tenant.

The platform will provide an easy way to import your chatbots from the Community edition into your own Enterprise tenant

  1. After importing your bots into your tenant, you will need to create new channels in the Connect tab of your imported chatbots (within your tenant), in order to reconnect them to your SAP Conversational AI Web Client.
  2. Finally, you will need to reconfigure your SAP Cloud Platform destinations.

I think this would be the ultimate strategy from SAP to enable their enterprise customers with enterprise mindset.
    I have few questions here…
    1. When CAI platform will be there inside customers private tenant in CF, does that mean customers need additional runtime or space or DB or any additional resources to accomodate in their own CF tanant?

    2. Will the customers have provition to directly control the users data (isolated chat data)?

    3. Will there be any change in bot training, building, channel and monitoring interface? Can the customers change the basic UI, lets say adding company logo for monitoring dashboard?

      Hi Partha,
      1. A customer not needs any runtime, space or DB. The only requirement is the needed entitlements to see SAP conversational AI. For productive use an Identity provider is needed.
      2. Chat data is isolated per tenant. There is no option on the customer side to control/ modify this.
      3. No planned change in the bot design time UI for now

      Best Regards,
      Pablo

What is the process for an existing SAP CAI customer to start using the Enterprise Edition of CAI? Does the customer need to place a particular request or sign up for the upgrade?
